From the history of the constitutional evolution of France

The article presents a brief overview of the evolution in the constitution of France in XVIII-XX centuries as an example of the diversity in constitutional forms. It is emphasized that in varying conditions monarchical and republican state structures were tested as the most optimal for a specific time. Gradually the most appropriate political and legal institutions and their combinations were selected.
