From the history of Russian still life

The article is devoted to the history of Russian still life. The author reveals the main directions of development of the Russian pictorial still life of the 18th century on the examples of its most vivid manifestations. Particular attention is drawn to the still-life-blende that appeared in the 16th century. On the basis of the analysis of the pictorial still lifes of the artist G. N. Teplov, it is determined that the still life is a "trickery" by G.N. Teplov adequately presented this pan-European style in the Russian still life of the thirties of the 18th century. In conclusion, it is said that the Russian pictorial still life of the 18th century developed in the common vein of Western European art, and at the same time met the interests and peculiarities of the life of Russian society.
