The same metal is used to cast medals for battle and medals for labor

The article is devoted to the role of railway transport during the Battle of Stalingrad. The work focuses on the relics of the family in which Tamara Rybalkina, a student at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, grew up. These are military awards that were received by the great-grandfather, locomotive engineer Dmitry Ivanovich Rybalkin. Family memory helps to understand the character and values of the Soviet generation, to realize how the people, having overcome all difficulties, won the battle against Nazism.
