The article addresses three examples where the analysis of lexical data implicates conclusions related to ethnographic, archaeological, and ethnogenetic issues: (1) names of a game (bet) «In Memory» in languages of Siberia and Russian dialects; (2) lexical aspects of interpreting the image of a fish tattooed on the leg of a tribal chief buried at Pazyryk mound 2; (3) names of Ursa Major in languages of Siberia and the petroglyphs of Amur.
