Over-education in Russia: social and economic consequences

The article deals with the problems arising as a consequence of overproduction of experts with higher education. As a result, the university graduates are doomed to seek jobs with different specialty and qualifications. Also, the authors note the spread of such a phenomenon as “devaluation of diplomas". Employers, seeing a number of young professionals with a higher education, offer the applicants posts that do not actually require higher education. The paper discusses the measures taken by the Russian government to improve the situation of youth's employment (retraining of former students, statistics on graduates' employment conducted by the universities).
