The publication “Kuznetsov Sergey Ilyich: the 60th anniversary. A bio-bibliography” as a material reflecting the contribution of the historian to the developing the issue of Japanese prisoners of war in the USSR (1945-1956)

This article analyzes the publication “Kuznetsov Sergey Ilyich: the 60th Anniversary. A Bio-Bibliography” as a systematized material that helps the researchers to draw preliminary conclusions about the contribution of the Irkutsk historian S.I. Kuznetsov towards studying the issue of Japanese prisoners of war in the USSR (1945-1956). This topic is relatively new in Russian historiography as its research started in the late 1980s.The abovementioned publication is valuable since it allows one to observe the primary information about various works of S.I. Kuznetsov on this theme in a structured manner, on the one hand, and get answers to a number of important issues relating to the history of its study, on the other hand.
