Based on materials from the Khabarovsk Region, the paper examines the process of establishing publishing activities in the languages of national minorities living in the Far Eastern Region in 1920-1930, in particular, the two most numerous - the Korean and Chinese diasporas. Particular attention is paid to the publication of educational, artistic and political-educational literature, and the supply of this literature to these groups of the population. The conducted research is based on the methods of historicism, consistency and objectivity. Previously unpublished materials from the State Archives of the Khabarovsk Region (GAKhK) are introduced into scientific circulation. In the retrospective of the study, a conclusion was made about the role of published literature as a valuable historical source. The author makes an attempt to classify published literature according to the field of application: educational literature for schools of the 1st stage, political education (political enlightenment) literature, literature on the Soviet construction of the village. A comparative analysis of the economic indicators of the publishing plan in the languages of the national minorities of the Far Eastern Region led to the conclusion about the low level of literacy among members of the Korean and Chinese diasporas, the lack of qualified specialists who speak Korean or Chinese, which in turn was due to the need for a wide publishing coverage of these population groups. However, the lack of financial support from the central bodies of the Soviet government and the process of deportation of the Korean and Chinese population from all over the Soviet Union that began in the late 1930s were the key reasons for the gradual cessation of publishing activities in the languages of the national minorities of the Far East.
