Variability of the length of the needles of the Picea pungens in the landscaping in Yoshkar-Ola

The length of Picea pungens needles in landscaping areas in Yoshkar-Ola averages 20.9-28.7 mm, which corresponds to the length in its natural habitat. Good adaptation of the species was established based on moderate and significant variation in the length of needles within the introduced populations (8.0-16.5%). It was revealed that the variability of the indicator is influenced not by the age of the plants, but mainly by the weather conditions of the year of formation, individual characteristics and origin of the plants.
