Variability of climatic factors and yielding capacity of soft spring wheat varieties in the steppe zone of the Omsk region

Western Siberia is one of the largest producers of high-quality grain of spring soft wheat, recurrent drought is one of the main factors of production growth. The object of the study was the data of meteorological conditions for the period from 1971 to 2014 in the Pavlograd region of Omsk region and data on the yield of registered varieties in the Pavlograd GSU for the period 1976-2014. The varieties of spring soft wheat, created by OmSAU in cooperation with the scientific institutions of the South Urals and Western Siberia, and the SibNIISCH cultivars by ripeness groups were used as the object of the study: the early-spring type - the Memory of Aziev; mid-ripple type - Saratovskaya 29, Niva 2, Duet; mid-late type - Omsk 9, Omsk 18, Omsk 35. As a result of the analysis of meteorological data for 44 years it was established that varieties of spring soft wheat in the steppe zone of the Omsk region should be characterized by drought resistance and good responsiveness to increased moisture availability in favorable years...
