Changes in adhesive properties of the vascular endothelium in various neck injuries

The article analyzes the changes in adhesive properties of the vascular endothelium in patients with various neck injuries in the immediate postoperative period. We evaluated various parameters in 30 patients with injuries. Of them, 15 patients had gunshot wounds to the neck, another 15 patients had stab wounds. The examinations were carried out on days 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 18 after the surgery. We found that changes in the concentration of soluble adhesion molecules of endothelium in serum depend on the type of the wound: they were more pronounced in individuals with gunshot wounds. In patients with gunshot wounds, the level of soluble adhesion molecules increases from the first day post surgery and comes back to normal on day 18.
