The increase of anthropogenic load, as the result of human activities affects habitat of hunting animals and direct-but on the kinds of hunting resources. To reduce this burden and ensure protection of wildlife related to hunting the state authorities carry out environmental monitoring of hunting resources and their habitats. On the territory of Omsk region authorities for implementation of monitoring is under the Department for protection, control and conservation of wildlife and hunting resources, entering into the structure of the Ministry of natural resources and ecology of Omsk region. Sable is a valuable representative of the fur-bearing animals. To determine the permissible withdrawal of sable from the environment, to identify factors affecting population size have a monitoring of the number of sable by the method of winter route accounting. This method used as the initial material for the development of practical recommendations aimed at the protection and rational use of the species. In the analysis of data of winter, route accounting established that sable readily settles in the forest and wetland. It is typical for Sedel’nikovskiy, Tarskiy, Ust-Ishim and Znamenskiy areas. In Znamenskiy area, there are visits of the animal in the field. In the Tevrizsky area, the sable found only in forest landscapes. The population of sable in the Omsk Priirtyshye is stable. In the period from 2006 to 2016 according to the monitoring results, the population of sable in the Omsk region gradually decreased and numbered in 2016 only 2057 individuals, which is on 61 % lower than a year with maximum population size (2013). With the highest density a sable inhabits the Tarskiy area (0.455 ind./thousand hectares), Tevrizskiy area (0.752 ind./thousand hectares), Ust-Ishim area (0.578 ind./thousand hectares), which are the most optimal habitat for this species. The main factors, which are influencing on the population size of sable on the territory of Omsk region, are the security feeds, weather factors, fires and hunting.
