This work is devoted to the consideration of civil law relations involving amendments to the lawsuit, the features of this process. The data are presented with links to the current legislation on the settlement and the plaintiff's refusal of the claim. The difference in procedural actions is described and examples are given. Some amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure of the Russian Federation are proposed, which, in our opinion, will expand the rights of the plaintiff
