Change of typological status of publishing as means of attracting readership (on the example of Tomsk publishing in the beginning of XX century)

The article analyzes reasons for changing the typological status of a newspaper based in Tomsk in 1906 as «Tomsk evening piece» and was transformed into satirical piece «Yorsh». The content of archive files of GATO and RGHA is revealed. The surviving in Russian national library issues of the newspaper are considered. Author concludes that the enabling conditions of social life in period of the first Russian revolution in 1906-1907 provincial publications sought to implement the declared «freedom of speech» and expand the readership, that led to a search for the best typological models and modifying of existing types of publications.
