Changes in the state religious policy during the Great Patriotic War (on the materials of Tatarstan)

The paper analyses some problems of relations between religious organizations and the State in wartime. The imminent deadly threat made the government bodies loosen many aspects of mass propaganda and political work, carried out in the prewar period. Some concessions in the ideological sphere were made in the religious sphere. Archival documents prove that the state policy towards religious communities and priests became less categorical and more tolerant.
