Proposed is a method for measuring color distortions of digital video in units of color thresholds. The method uses another proposed method (FHL) for measuring color differences by length of the shortest path in units of color thresholds between two points of the color space. Also new approximations of the three-dimensional spatiotemporal characteristics of the human visual system are proposed and included in the method to account spatiotemporal aspects of visual perception.
