The paper considers the measurement of vapor density in a vacuum arc, which was carried out using the technique that involves weakening the current in the electron beam penetrating the vapor cloud. The author concludes that data on the medium density in the interelectrode gap can be obtained by probing the vacuum arc with an electron beam, and the amount of gas adsorbed in the contacts strongly affects pdl.
