Studying Russia as an empire: novations and recurrency in Anglo-American historical Russia studies of 1990-2010

The article’s objective is to examine the main trends of “new imperial studies” in the Anglo-American historiography of the 1990-2010 in the context of general methodological renovation of foreign studies of Russia of this period. The research defines the key methodological approaches and new thematic perspectives in the Anglo-American studies of “imperial components” of Russian national identity, public consciousness and state policy.
