The article examines the effect of diffusion of the most common high-boiling organic solvents, which are part of ballpoint pen pastes and gel inks, when storing documents with handwritten requisites in conditions of direct contact on the amount of such solvents in the strokes of these requisites. As a result of the experiments conducted, it was shown that during the contact storage of documents with handwritten requisites having different expiration dates, there is an increase in the amount of high-boiling organic solvents in paper and in the strokes of the requisites of more "old" documents. At the same time, in some cases, the increase in the solvent amount in the strokes of the requisites turns out to be more significant than in the paper, which may lead to distortion of the results of expert studies to establish the prescription of documents using techniques based on determining changes in the relative amount of high-boiling organic solvents in the strokes.
