Research and evaluation of Epipactis palustris (L.) Crantz population in Tver city

Бесплатный доступ

Epipactis palustris populations were studied in secondary habitat in the Botanic Garden, Tver City and in natural habitats in Tver Region. The population of E. palustris in Tver City showed predominance of generative individuals with few young plants. The size of generative individuals from the Tver City population is considerably bigger than in natural populations. They differed in plant height (64.96±1.51) and length of inflorescence (14.68±0.71), they also had more flowers per inflorescence (21.61±1.04). This can be explained by the facts that in the city orchids grow on very fertile soils and competition from other plants is low in urban habitats.
