Study of expression of molecular-biological markers in cells of colon adenocarcinoma metastases

The purpose of the study was to assess the expression of nm 23 and c-erbB-2 protein markers in the development of liver metastases from colon cancer (CC). Immunohistochemical study of nm 23 and c-erbB-2 expressions was conducted on 64 primary tumors, 19 metastases in lymph nodes and 37 liver metastases. More pronounced nm 23 and c-erbB-2 expressions in primary tumor cells were found to be observed in patients with CC liver metastases. Expressions of nm 23 and c-erbB-2 proteins were determined in 66 % and 59 % of CC liver metastases, respectively. The results of the study show that the expression of nm 23 and c-erbB-2 proteins reflects the biological tumor behavior and can be the main factor in the development of colorectal cancer metastases.
