Study of musical culture Ob Ugric peoples of Western Siberia

The article gives a brief overview of the literature on the history of the study of musical culture of the peoples of the north of Western Siberia, the classification of musical instruments, the reconstruction of song creation. The author notes the direction of research development. It goes from a simple description of folk musical instruments to the scientific study of the instrumental tradition. It noted professional composer creativity, which is based on the folk music tradition.
