Studying the biography of a sniper, participant in the Great Patriotic War A. M. Etobaev by schoolchildren

In the article, we give an idea of implementing regional studies through history in extracurricular activities at school. It has been concluded that scientific research develops a sense of citizenship and patriotism in the younger generation. Based on the biography of a famous sniper, hero of the Great Patriotic War Arseny Mikhailovich Etobaev, we tried to cultivate patriotism in schoolchildren, devotion to their small homeland, active participa tion in its history and culture. The study has shown that schoolchildren can expand and deepen their general historical knowledge through independent research of the fate of their countrymen. The study of local history develops the desire of schoolchildren to work with artistic, historical, popular science literature, instil in children a love for their small homeland, interest in general history.
