Study of combining ability of varieties and selected numbers of meadow clover according to seed productivity

The article presents the results of estimation of original material of meadow clover in collection nursery. 24 varieties and 2 selected numbers with high seed productivity (+7,7-76,9%) in comparison with standard Srednerussky were differentiated. Combining ability of the separated original material according to seed productivity is estimated by polycross method. In breed being obtained from plant crosspollination by collective tester we selected 6 varieties (Orlovsky credneranny, Fetzerskitzinger, Iuno Dachenfeldt, Arlington, Hunsballe, Bolkhovsky local) and selected number CHP (complex-hybrid synthetic population) 40 with very high combining ability (121,2-170,5%); 4 varieties (Tilo Dachenfeldt, Rondo, Khakass 1, Uralsky double-cutting) and selected number CHP 65, with high combining ability (114,4-119,9%); 3 varieties (Birsky local, Trio, Srednerussky), with mean combining ability (101,4-106,8%) according to increased seed productivity. On the ground of varieties and selected numbers with very high, high and mean combined ability were created 8 complex-hybrid synthetic populations of meadow clover, the best of them (CHP 159) after selection working out and estimation is passed into state testing as variety Suvenir.
