J. D. Koblov on cultural and religious life of the Volga region Muslims at the beginning of the XX century

The paper is devoted to the problem of the development of ethnographic researches in the field of cultural and religious life of the Tatars - Muslims of the Middle Volga region. On the basis of J.D.Koblov works the author analyses the contribution and general orientation of scholarly researches made by the Russian missionary ethnographers. The author makes a conclusion about the importance of these works for studying the history and life of the Volga region Muslims and about the necessity of their introduction into wide scientific circulation.
