The role of the nuclear weapons in the beginning of the XXI century

This article is devoted to the analysis of the role of nuclear weapons in the modern world and whether this role could increase or decrease in the nearest future. The author considers the impact of network-centric conception of warfare on the system of strategic deterrence in the world. The research deals with the development of precision weapons, the upgrade of which plays the key role in the support of the strategic deterrence.
