Yakut department of the cadet party during the revolution of 1917: personal composition

The article examines the history of the liberal movement during the revolutionary events of 1917 using the example of the Yakut department of the Cadet party. The features of the history of the liberal party organization operating in the conditions of the national outskirts are shown, the personal composition of the Yakut department is analyzed. On the basis of archival documents, materials from periodicals, memoirs, the names of 27 members of the Yakut department of the People's Freedom Party were revealed for the first time. As a result of the study, it was established that the personal composition of the Cadet party included representatives of the intelligentsia, teachers, employees, merchants. The article concludes that the social composition of the Yakut department of the Cadet party was characteristic of Cadet organizations in Russia as a whole. The members of the local Cadet organization were few in number, the party did not have significant political influence, but it took an active part in elections, social and cultural events during the revolution.
