Fairs in the Russian economy of the XVIII - XIX centuries

The article presents an analysis of the role of fairs in the economic development of Russia in the XVIII - XIX centuries. The period under consideration is characterized by economic prosperity associated with the transition from feudalism to capitalism. Fairs played an important role in the process of this transition and served as a place for the exchange of goods, services, experience and new technologies. In addition, fairs were an important factor of social integration in Russia, as they were a meeting place for representatives of various regions of the country, where not only commodity, but also socio-cultural exchange took place.
