Language and style of modern political figures (on the material of interviews given by governors of the Krasnoyarsk territory and the Republic of Khakassia as at yearend 2023)

Statement of the problem. The phenomenon of speech influence in political linguistics is currently in the centre of close attention of scientists, since the political leaders of the last century with a vivid speech portrait are being replaced by new wave politicians. This article examines the correlation between language and style in the speech of the governors of two Siberian regions: M.M. Kotyukov, head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and V.O. Konovalov, head of the Republic of Khakassia. The choice of personalities is due to the great public interest in the political position and activities of two Siberian governors. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of communicative strategies in a linguistic personality and peculiarities of a linguistic image on the example of the heads of two constituent units of the Russian Federation. The study examines the communicative strategies of a public linguistic personality and identifies speech features that are a constant in the discourse of a particular linguistic personality. Methodology (materials and methods). The materials of the study were two interviews: the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory M.M. Kotyukov's interview to the regional TV channel “Yenisei” and the governor of the Republic of Khakassia V.O. Konovalov's interview to the regional TV channel “RTS”. The methodology is based on the observation method and the continuous sampling method. Linguistic analysis revealed the peculiarities of the linguistic structure of the text, its lexical composition, grammatical structure, and stylistic techniques. Content analysis was used to identify keywords and phrases, identify the main ideas of the interview. Semantic analysis revealed the meaning and connotations of words and phrases in the speech of speakers, as well as their relationship. Research results. Based on the analysis of the language and style of the leaders of two Siberian regions, communicative features have been identified that help enjoy the trust of their voters, confidently lead the team and, thereby, maintain stability in the region. In addition, the analysis revealed the value, socio-cultural and individual characteristics of the linguistic personalities of M.M. Kotyukov and V.O. Konovalov: the socio-speech communication of the two governors is quite similar and fits within the framework of one language model, however, the analysis also revealed the speech differences of the governors, including individual features, i.e. speech dominants inherent to each of them.
