Sport has long ceased to be a complex of recreational activities and leisure. Sports today is a huge industry that earns hundreds of billions of dollars. Large companies and investors acquire sports clubs, schools, as assets that generate profit. In addition, sport is a tool for maintaining the country's reputation in the international arena, and the authorities usually have an interest in the development of this industry. Against this background, the importance of the profitability of sports organizations becomes obvious. At the moment, the sports industry is developing and progressing rapidly, new sports are emerging, organizations are paying more attention to evaluating their performance, new methods are emerging, and regional (or provincial) organizations have begun to pay more attention to this aspect. However, in addition to the economic efficiency of the sports industry, one should also keep in mind social and sports performance. Enterprises are trying not to forget about their users, fans, more attention has been paid to maintaining media channels, as well as various social networks, to attract a new audience. The author of the article considers the effectiveness of this area primarily from the standpoint of assessing indicators that show sports achievements, the effects on the standard of living of the population, health care, labor productivity, crime, and so on. The article also mentions the development of sports at the regional level and also the evaluation of the effectiveness of local enterprises.
