The purpose of the research was studying efficiency of use of the probiotics "Olin" for calves under different management practices. The research was carried out under the production conditions of LLC "Druzhba," Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region. For the research, 36 newborn red-and-white calves were selected, which, according to the principle of pairs-analogues, were divided into six groups, each one containing 6 livestock units. The differences between the groups were that the animals of the 1st-control and 4th-control groups did not receive the probiotic, but were managed in different ways: the1st control group - in calf barns, in group boxes, the 4th control group - in individual houses. Animals of the 2nd and 3rd experimental groups were kept in a calf shed as a group and received probiotic in different doses: the 2nd - at a dose of 3 g per head per day, the 3rd - 4 g per head per day. Animals of the 5th and 6th experimental groups were kept in individual houses and received probiotic in different doses: the 5th - at a dose of 3 g per head per day, the 6th - 4 g per head per day. As a result of the research, it was found that with the group method of keeping calves, the use of "Olin" in a dose of 4 g per head per day was the most effective. In addition, compared with the control the live weight increases by 5.4%, the absolute and average daily gains - by 10.8%, the relative gain - by 4.78%, the cost of 1 kg of live weight gain - by 6.7%. When keeping calves in individual houses, the most effective application of "Olin" was at a dose of 3 g per head per day, the absolute and average daily gain in live weight of calves increased by 8.3%, growth energy - by 4.83%, the cost price of 1 kg of live weight gain - by 5.2%.
