Production, selection, and economic indicators of Karelian cattle breeding farms “Breeding farm “Il’inskoe” and “Breeding factory “Megrega” were studied. The farms have high productive herds with the yield of 7300-7500 kg of milk per cow per year. The sale of young breeders amounts to 65-102 heads per year. The profitability level of dairy cattle is around 7-20,3 %. These breeding factories proved to be highly productive enterprises in Karelia. These companies should elevate the level of fat and protein in cow milk and reduce production costs. They also need to ensure efficient production and growth of competitive young bulls of Ayrshire breed.
