Results of studying of seed efficiency of mungbean are presented in article (Vigna radiata L. (R) Wilczek), crop of family of bean. In 2013, 2 early ripening and 5 mid-season variety samples were isolated from the VIR collection, with a yield of more than 100 g / m2. The results of the study of selected variety samples in the environmental conditions of the Middle Volga region, allowed to make a conclusion about the potential for the introduction of Vigna radiata in the region. Seeds of selected samples were sown in the fields of selective crop rotation. The sowing times of were determined, the features of growth and development, production process, water regime were studied, phenological observations were conducted, field drought resistance, the duration of the growing season was determined. The possibility of mechanized harvesting of agrocenosis Vigna radiata was studied. Plants Vigna radiata self-seeding does not form, but successfully propagated by artificial means. In this connection, it is necessary to study the seed productivity of a crop in specific natural and climatic conditions. The studied variety samples are the initial breeding material.
