Effectiveness of modern therapeutic approaches in the treatment of amblyopia in children: analysis of clinical studies

Бесплатный доступ

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of traditional and modern therapeutic approaches to the treatment of amblyopia in children with a focus on comparative effectiveness, patient adherence, and long-term outcomes. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of different therapies in improving visual function and ensuring stable compliance. The methodology included analyzing clinical data on occlusion therapy and modern techniques such as virtual reality (VR) therapy. The study showed that traditional occlusion therapy, although effective, faces compliance problems due to discomfort and social stigma. Modern approaches such as VR therapy have demonstrated significant improvement in visual function and binocular dysfunction through interactive and immersive environments. These methods have shown wider age-specific efficacy and sustained patient interest, resulting in long-term improvements. Thus, the introduction of VR therapy into clinical practice is recommended to optimize therapeutic outcomes and improve the quality of amblyopia treatment, especially in patients with poor adherence to traditional methods or severe amblyopia.
