Efficacy of therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation in patients with the first psychotic episode

To estimate the clinic-social effect of the first psychotic episode program there were made two groups of patients suffering from schizophrenia: the first group consisted of 46 patients with the first episode, treated in 2002-2003 (before the organization of the first psychotic episode department), and the second group of 54 patients supervised in the first episode department in 2004-2005. The comparative analysis of biological and psychosocial therapy testify that the conditions of the first psychotic episode department promote for the reduction of terms of psychotic symtomatology stopping, the reduction of repeated hospitalizations and a higher level of social functioning
