In the current state of the economy, labor potential and the effectiveness of its development is one of the decisive factors in the competitiveness of an enterprise, since it is workers who are the main engine for virtually all processes of an organization’s development, maintaining its position in the existing market. This nuance is important in the conditions of the digital economy, when indicators in the work of companies in almost all depend on the quality of the professional activities of employees at each level of management. This article discusses the concept of labor potential and its characteristics, since labor potential is a necessary condition for the development of the process of innovation, which activates and promotes the development of the potential of a person and society, it is necessary to have a proper understanding in this area. It is indicated that “labor potential” as an economic category was formed only in the domestic scientific literature. The purpose of the study is the analysis of the specifics of managing the labor potential of an enterprise from a single employee to an organization as a whole. The theoretical significance of the study consists in expressing one’s opinion on the definition of the economic category of labor potential. The views of different authors on the theme of labor potential at different stages of management are given.
