At present, significant experience has been accumulated in the world practice in the development and creation of pilot and industrial models of desalination plants that produce fresh water for domestic and technological use.Among the numerous methods of salt water desalination, some have been brought to the stage of industrial implementation, while others are at the stage of exploratory research. From the analysis of existing methods, it was revealed that the main method of desalination is the thermal method.However, thermal desalination of salt water requires a large amount of traditional energy resources, the problem of providing which is no less important than water supply. In this regard, it is of practical interest to use non-traditional energy sources for the desalination of salt water, primarily the energy of solar radiation. In this regard, studying the possibility of using solar water desalination technologies to provide drinking water is an urgent task.
