The multiplier and accelerator effects in the modern Russian economy

The mechanism of functioning of the national economy at the macro level implies the need to consider a variety of factors, among which the multiplier and accelerator effects are the most relevant. The article describes the theoretical bases of the impact of the multiplier and accelerator effects on the economy. The basic conceptions and approaches to the effectiveness of investment processes in macroeconomics are reviewed. The author analyses the statistical data for the period of 2007-2014 on the dynamics of the gross national product of Russia and investments in fixed assets, calculates the investment multiplier and accelerator value. On the basis of the calculations the conclusions about the impact of the total expenditure on the amount of the national income are made.
