In vitro fertilization: allowed or forbidden?

This Article Reviews and Critiques Both the Form and the Content of the Key Points of the Statement of the Social-Ecclesiastic Advisory Committee on Biomedical Ethics of the Moscow Patriarchate “The Christian Evaluation of In Vitro Fertilization”, argues that its absolute prohibition of in vitro fertilization is unwarranted and delineates a possible acceptance of in vitro fertilization in some cases within the boundaries indicated in the Basic Social Concept of the Russian Orthodox Church.
