Drinking waters of the Republic of Bashkortostan

The influence of background radiation on water quality and its potential danger to public health is assessed. In recent years, the volume of groundwater consumed has amounted to more than 83% and the content of radon with its decay products makes a certain contribution to the increase in the incidence of cancer, especially lung cancer. It was found that with an increase in the consumption of drinking water taken from underground sources, the incidence of oncological disorders increases.
