Environmental information agenda as an element of the image structure of an industrial region

The article discusses the influence of the environmental information agenda on shaping the image of a region. The issue of exploring the techniques for constructing a regional image through mass media is a current area of modern journalism. A review of scholarly literature al-lows considering as a fundamental premise that materials from contemporary media, including those addressing environmental concerns of a specific area, can be viewed as one component in the overall presentation of a region. The goal of this study is to substantiate this thesis based on the results of the analysis of the environmental information agenda of regional media and social networks. The article describes the results of the study of environmental media texts at the the-matic and attributive levels. It demonstrates that media information influences public conscious-ness to form the perception of a region, thus shaping its image. Notably, the environmental in-formation agenda is determined by the territorial, cultural, climatic, and historical features of a particular region. The results of the analysis of environmental media materials allowed iden-tifying features most represented both in Chelyabinsk and the Chelyabinsk region, as well as Ye-katerinburg and the Sverdlovsk region among ten general categories of features. The use of the cognitive-matrix analysis of categories and attributes in the study of elements in the envi-ronmental information agenda allowed concluding about the important role of the information agenda in shaping the image of the region.
