Environmental aspect of sustainable development of Russia: wishes and realities

Environmental problems are becoming more and more important in the system of world priorities. It is the economy that is often blamed for environmental degradation. Sustainable development is crucial for settlement of conflicts between the economy and the nature. Now the major reason for a critical environmental situation is the existing technogenic, nature-destructive type of development. Without transition to a sustainable, ecologically balanced type of economic development it will be impossible to solve complex economic and social problems. The article deals with the environmental aspect of sustainable development of Russia.
