The ecological condition of the lake Lebyazhye and opportunities for landscape improvement

This paper informs on results of researches of ecological condition of the Lebyazhye Lake on zooplankton and zoobenthos during the vegetation period of 2015-2016. Determined taxonomic structure of hydrobionts, dominant by quantitative characteristics taxons, calculated abundance, biomass and biotic indexes. The zooplankton composition of the discovered 42 taxon rank below genus. The zoobenthos was represented by seven taxons. In 2016, the water level fell, resulting in species diversity of benthonts decreased compared to the previous year. In terms of zooplankton indexes, the water of the lake Lebyazhye is evaluated as "moderately polluted". That corresponds to class III of water quality. At the same time, a marked violation of the zoobenthos communities (their condition characterizes the lake as "very dirty"), which may be associated with an unfavourable chemical composition of water and variable water level regime. Our research has a high practical significance, since it is a scientific substantiation of measures on restoration of the lake. A chaotic mass recreation is more damaging than organized and structured, therefore, a necessary step in the structuring of the recreational load is landscaping and site improvement. Based on the research, we developed a site improvement project involving 6 functional areas that will ensure the rest of the townspeople in various aspects.
