As a result of researches influence of methods of the main tillage on ecological and economic indicators of cultivation of winter wheat is studied. The analysis of costs for compensation of full economic damage from water erosion, productivity, direct costs is carried out. It was found that the most environmentally-cost-effective way of tillage in the cultivation of winter wheat is a chisel tillage, which provides a decrease in the washout of the fertile soil layer by 22 %, obtaining 5.7 tons of grain from 1 ha, as well as a conditionally net income of 18.2 thousand rubles / ha, with a profitability of 112.6 % and a return on direct costs by harvest of 2.1 RUB /RUB.
