In this work, the authors analyze aspects of achieving sustainable development goals from the point of view of the cost-effectiveness of environmental activities. Sustainable development (SD) first became prominent in international discussions in the 1980s and became the central theme of the United Nations Conference (UN). Development is and is considered sustainable if economic progress is widespread, extreme poverty is eliminated, social trust is promoted through policies that strengthen society, and the environment is protected from anthropogenic degradation. SD contains a useful and successful approach that the countries of the world have agreed to take as a guide in their efforts to address some of the most pressing problems of the ХХI century.
