Economic security as a factor of sustainable development of the region (on the example of the Volgograd region)

Economic security is a key factor in the sustainable development of the region and it is important to achieve its stable positive dynamics. Therefore, it is important to analyze the main socio-economic indicators of the region that characterize economic security and develop measures that contribute to the sustainable development of the region. The object of the study was the indicators of economic security of the Volgograd region. The study carried out a structural and statistical analysis of the economic security indicators of the region by indicators: GRP per capita; GRP growth rate; the index of industrial production; the share of investments in fixed assets in GRP; the level of the subsistence minimum; the level of real disposable incomes of citizens; the number of organizations; the unemployment rate according to the ILO methodology; the share of citizens with incomes below the subsistence minimum, %.), as well as grouping, classification and synthesis of the results obtained. A methodological approach to determining the integral index of economic security of the region is proposed and its calculation is tested on the example of the Volgograd region and other regions of the Southern Federal District. The analysis showed that the key problem of the decline of the Volgograd industry was the lack of investment resources, and in order to stabilize the socio-economic situation of the region and its sustainable development, it is necessary to increase regional investment attractiveness, including through the expansion of public-private partnership projects.
