Economic security of the region: approaches to defining

The purpose of the article is to systematize scientific approaches to the impact of negative factors on the state of the region’s economic security, determine the criteria for the transition of a region’s economic system from one state to another, taking into account the intensity of negative factors, and determine the sources of threats to the region’s economic security. The essence of factors that negatively affect the state of the economic security of the region is investigated: risk, threat, challenge. The characteristic of the elements of the diagnostic system of economic security of the region is given. A review of the position of scientists on the impact of negative factors on the state of economic security of the region. Based on a generalization of scientific approaches, spheres of manifestation of threats to the economic security of the region are identified. As a result of the study, typologization of threats to the economic security of the region by functional components was carried out. The vectors of further research in this direction are connected with the calculation and analysis of the state of the economic security of the regions of Russia, determining the degree of influence of threats on the main components of the economic security of the regions to develop an effective program for ensuring regional development security.
