Economic security of the Russian pipe rolling industry on the example of pricing during sanctions and the COVID-19 pandemic

Maintenance of the economic security and independence of our state poses serious challenges for the pipe industry, because this industry is systemically important. The production of pipe products requires the latest technologies, as it is in close relationship with industries, whose constant intensive development is required by the modern era. These industries are the fuel and energy complex, mechanical engineering, construction and others, which influence on the improvement of the quality of life of the country’s population and the achievement of intensive economic growth of the state in general. The article reveals the topical issue of the present time - the consequences of the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the sanctions imposed by unfriendly countries on the development of the economic activity of the pipe-rolling industry, as one of the basic sectors of the Russian national economy. There is an analysis of trade in the products of enterprises during sanctions and lockdowns caused by new strains of СOVID-19, and their impact on rising prices in the industry in this article. Contradictions and inconsistencies between the state and business in the adoption of some anti-crisis measures are revealed. Thus, it is shown, that in the conditions of the crisis, it is necessary for the development and effective functioning of the backbone enterprises of the pipe-rolling industry, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Federal Assembly must balance the pricing policy of the business, ensuring mutually beneficial connection of all sectors of the national of the Russian economy, as well as the relationship between business and government, by improving the regulatory framework, while monitoring, controlling, concessional financing and taxation, coordinating development strategies and programs, etc.
