Economic security - strategic national priority of the Russian Federation: analysis of the new strategy of national security of the Russian Federation

One of the key documents of strategic planning in the Russian Federation is the National Security Strategy. On July 2, 2021, the President of the Russian Federation approved a new strategy for the country’s national security, in which economic security is enshrined as a strategic national priority. The adopted document defined new emphasis on the field of economic security. The purpose of this study is, based on the analysis of the provisions of the National Security Strategy, to clarify the understanding of economic security, its boundaries and role in ensuring sustainable development of the national economy of the Russian Federation. The article analyzes in detail the concepts used in the document. It has been established that the understanding of “national security”, “ensuring national security”, “national interests”, “strategic national priorities” has been clarified. In outlining the tendencies and capabilities of Russia in the modern world, in essence, the mission of the Russian Federation in increasing the stability of the system of world relations is outlined. The article analyzes the content of the concept of “economic security” laid down in the National Security Strategy, as a result, formulated its author’s definition. The section of strategic national priorities “Economic security” is analyzed in detail. A different approach to the presentation of problems has been identified, the tasks of countering threats to economic security are replaced by tasks of ensuring economic security. In the conclusion, the directions of scientific research in the field of economic security, updated in connection with the approval of the new National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, are formulated.
