Economic activity of the Tambov-Saratov railway in the 1870-s

The article describes economic activity of the Tambov-Saratov railroad in the 1870-s, the challenges faced by the railway men. The author analyses the cargo transportation in the Saratov Volga region in that period, discusses the impact of various trade factors on this process. It is emphasized that the increasing expenditures influenced the type of railroad exploitation. The reasons of debt establishment of the Tambov-Saratov railroad are discussed.
