Economic and social efficiency of initiative budgeting

The article examines current aspects of the formation and development of the participatory budgeting system in the regions and municipalities of the Russian Federation, that is, the processes of public involvement in the adoption of plans and projects involving the use of budget funds within the framework of certain state programs, national and regional projects. The purpose of the study is to present the development trends, models and effects of the use of participatory budgeting. The article provides a detailed description of participatory budgeting, its forms and models, the importance for the development of both the interaction of public authorities and civil society, and for ensuring the transparency of the use of budgetary resources.
